Today is our birthday. On August, 15, 2003, the foundation was laid for Concrete Software. With little more than a Personal Digital Assistant and a dream, we set out to make the highest quality and the most fun mobile games we could. That was 10 years ago.
A lot can happen in 10 years:
-
You could speedrun Doom on Nightmare difficulty over 200,000 times. (Over 100,000 times for a 100% run.)
-
You could earn two separate PhDs. (One in astrophysics and one in applied mathematics.)
-
You could build the Golden Gate Bridge, the Empire State Building, AND the Hoover Dam, and still have time for ice cream.
-
You could establish NASA and go on to land some guys on the moon. You get the idea.
We haven’t done all that, but we’re pretty proud of what we’ve accomplished, and it might sound cheesy to say it, but we couldn’t have done it without you. We’ve weathered the storms of platform wars and marketplace upheavals. We’ve watched other companies rise and fall, and seen breakthrough technologies come and go. And through it all we never stopped making the games that we want to play — games that we think you’ll want to play.
We’ve been around for a while, and we’ve seen a lot, but we still have a ways to go. After all, it has only been 10 years and The Simpsons has been on for 24 and the Rolling Stones have been rocking for over 50. But with a bona fide decade of experience under our belts, you can expect big things from us over the next 10 years.
See you in 2023.
