Power and Torque do different jobs. Power sets top speed and helps acceleration, so more Power improves the best time the car can run. Torque is the strongest piece of the launch, so more Torque gets the car moving sooner. The full definitions are on What the Car Stats Do.
They are not free. High Power with low Endurance wears Durability down faster. High Power with low Handling makes the car harder to control. High Torque with low Handling adds swerve and makes a perfect start harder. If the timeslip shows a strong light and a weak finish, look at Power. If the 60-foot time is the weak split, look at Torque.
How to compare two parts
- Tap the garage door icon at the bottom of the screen.
- Tap Parts.
- Tap the part you might equip. Use the engine, intake, drivetrain, or electronics. Those are the four slots on the timeslip.
- Tap Info.
- Read the Power and Torque bars. The fill shows where that part sits. If an upgrade is available, a second fill shows what the next level would add.
- Read Handling and Endurance on the same screen before you commit. A part that only raises Power can make the car harder to drive.
- Tap Equip to put it on the car.
- Run the car and read the 60-foot time and the 1,000-foot time on the timeslip.
The same garage path is in How to Change Cars or Parts. Raising a part you keep is in How to Upgrade Cars or Parts. Handling and Endurance have their own pages: Build Strategy: Handling and Build Strategy: Endurance.
