Power, Torque, Endurance, and Handling are the four bars on a part. A special ability is a separate line. It can do something the bars do not show on their own. One engine, for example, adds Power based on the car's Shine, and the Info screen writes the amount for the car you have now. Read that line. The number changes with the car.
Crew members and sponsorships are also abilities. They are not part of the four slots. A crew ability applies while that person is in an active slot. A sponsorship ability applies while its timer is running. See Crew Members and Sponsorships.
How to read a part ability
- Tap the garage door icon at the bottom of the screen.
- Tap Parts.
- Tap the part, then tap Info.
- Read the four stat bars first.
- Read the ability line under them. If that line is empty, the part has no extra ability.
- Compare it with the part that is equipped now. An ability can be worth more than a small stat bump, or it can be useless on the car you are driving.
- Tap Equip if you want it on the car.
- Run a pass and read the timeslip. The ability is doing its job if the split it should help actually moved.
Stat meanings are on What the Car Stats Do.
