2012 was a good year for Concrete Software.

We started the year off with a bang by releasing Wordsplosion for Android and iOS. Then we put a new spin on solitaire with Aces Solitaire Pack Challenge for iOS and we managed to untangle a whole mess of traffic jams by adding hints to Aces Traffic Pack for Android.

After that we taught robots and beavers to wear top hats and tails in Gin Rummy for Kindle Fire and Nook, brought Aces Spades to Android and iOS, and did our part to help reduce the virtual ant population by adding throwing stars, machine guns and bug zappers in Pocket Ants for iOS.

Last, but most definitely not least, we finally finished Jellyflop! for Android. An ocean of sweat and tears went into this game (the process was relatively bloodless) and the result is a project we couldn’t be more proud of. Pound-for-pound this was our most ambitious project and perhaps our greatest achievement as a game company. Continue Reading »

The new levels also take advantage of a new mechanic making its debut, the Boost Line. Most surfaces in Jellyflop! cause the game’s hero, Jelly the jellyfish, to bounce or flop, but the Boost Line reacts differently. The Boost Line draws him in and speeds him along until he reaches the end of the line, adding a new tool in Jelly’s continuing search for feathers and creating some unexpected and hilarious physics results in the process. Jellyflop!™ for Android! (Official Press Release)

Minneapolis, MN – October 9, 2012 – Concrete Software, developers of rock solid mobile games, is pleased to announce the release of Jellyflop! for Android.

The hero of Jellyflop! is Jelly, a little Jellyfish in a big jam, who needs to collect feathers to achieve his dream of flying with the birds.

Players help him to do this by using their touch-screens to draw gelatinous lines that will bounce him over obstacles and past predators that stand in his way.

It takes a skilled hand to get the lines just right, but Jellyflop! encourages exploration and creativity by allowing players to draw lines anywhere and everywhere within the play area. Draw as many or as few lines as you’d like, just so long as Jelly ends up bouncing to the feather at the end of each level.

“Jellyflop! is a big step forward for us,” said Keith Pichelman, CEO of Concrete Software. “We have plenty of experience with puzzle games, but this is our first title that gives players the freedom to solve puzzles any way they want. We provide the toolbox, the rest is up the to their imagination.”

Speedier players can launch Jelly directly to his goal, while more methodical players will have their work cut out for them collecting the hundreds of hard-to-reach water droplets scattered throughout the game.

Collecting those droplets will also unlock a variety of hats, helmets, and other headgear that Jelly can wear in-game as he is sent tumbling through 5 different environments, including sandy beaches, dense jungle, and volcanic lava.

A whopping 100 puzzles will occupy players with hour after hour of flipping, flopping, and flying fun in this action-packed physics puzzler.

Jellyflop! is available now on Google Play, Nook Apps, and Amazon Appstore for Android.
